First Lutheran will participate in the 2016 Greenwich/Port Chester/Rye Crop Hunger Walk

3/9/2016
First Lutheran is putting together a team to walk in the 2016 Crop Hunger Walk to be held on April 24th. To help us raise money for this worthy cause, please visit our Team page at www.crophungerwalk.org/greenwichct/bensbunch.

This year's walk will be held on April 24th. This year our walk will be different. Teams of 4 – 6 individuals from participating groups and churches will convene at local running tracks (at Greenwich High School or Port Chester High School) to carry water (at least four gallons) a distance of at least one and a half miles. We’re choosing to carry water to symbolically recognize and support the thousands and thousands of people, mostly women and girls, who must fetch water for their every day needs. We choose to carry water but they must! Each team should bring containers that hold a total of at least four gallons water.  Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and the walk starts at 2:00.

If you would like to join the Ben's Bunch team, click on the team name to the left, then click on the "Join Our Team" link. We hope you can walk with us in person, but if not, consider being with us in spirit through your financial support. Click
on the team name above to donate to help our team reach its goal. If you would prefer to write a check, please make it out to "CWS/Crop" and give it to a team member before the 24th.

All funds raised will help support the work of Church World Service and two local hunger agencies, Neighbor to Neighbor of Greenwich and Carver Center of Port Chester. For more information about the Crop Hunger Walk, please go to the website: Greenwich/Port Chester/Rye Crop Hunger Walk.
